Hedges, standards, spirals and shapes cut by hand
This is the part of the trade most crews will not touch, and it is the part we are known for. Ficus and clusia hedges cut true to a line rather than rounded off. Podocarpus trained into columns and cones. Spirals and pom-pom standards shaped out of a plant over several seasons, not carved into it in one afternoon. Bougainvillea cut so it flowers instead of just growing. All of it by hand where hand is what the plant needs, and all of it timed to the plant rather than to the calendar — because cutting a flowering shrub at the wrong point in the year costs you the flowers, not just the shape.

Identify & Time It
We tell you what you have and when it should be cut. Half of what goes wrong with shrubs here is a right cut made in the wrong month.
Free Written Price
Priced per visit or as a season, whichever matches how often the planting actually needs a hand on it.
Shape It
Formal work is cut to a line and a level. Specimen and flowering plants are cut stem by stem, by hand.

Clippings leave with us, and you are told what to watch for and when we should be back.
